The loud footsteps of Zagreus echo throughout house of Hades. While all the shades and spirts sleep in what they call night, Zagreus quickly made his way to the gates of the estate. Zagreus had finally had enough of the underworld. After living there for eternity and working for his father Hades, he was ready to leave. Zagreus had talked to his father about leaving the underworld many times before but was always met with a firm and hostile no. Zagreus respected his fathers’ orders, but once he learned that his mother Persephone was alive and living on the surface, he no longer cared for what his father had to say. As Zagreus approached the main gates, he gripped his spear tightly. “No turning back now” he thought to himself. Zagreus smashed through the gates and ran into the pits of Tartarus
After he smashed the gates, all of the underworld awoke and was aware that Zagreus was trying to escape. Even though Zagreus was prince of the underworld he was not allowed to leave. Hades only rarely allows souls to return the surface. Zagreus was quickly met with resistance from all the warriors and soldiers residing in Tartarus. With his spear Varatha Zagreus quickly cut through all the enemies standing in his way. All kinds of monsters and spirts tried to defeat Zagreus, but they stood no chance for the prince of the underworld. Zagreus was an exceptional fighter. He had been trained by his entire life in the underworld by the legendary hero of the Trojan war Achilles. Achilles was a great mentor to Zagreus and acted more like a father to him that Hades ever was. Zagreus used all the knowledge Achilles taught him in the ways of fighting as he tore through the first wave of enemies. As Zagreus “killed” the last enemy in sight a small bag with a lighting bolt appeared on the ground. “Uncle Zeus” Zagreus said to himself. Since Hades and his brothers don’t get along very well, Zagreus had little contact with his family on Olympus. Somehow word must have quickly spread that Zagreus was trying to escape the underworld. Zagreus open the small bag and a message from Zeus appeared.

Since Hades and his brothers don’t get along very well, Zagreus had little contact with his family on Olympus. Somehow word must have quickly spread that Zagreus was trying to escape the underworld. Zagreus open the small bag and a message from Zeus appeared.
“Zagreus! It’s your Uncle Zeus. All of us at Olympus heard you want to get out of that wretched place and come live on Olympus. We would love to have you hear, so we will help you escape. Keep an eye out for more of our gifts.”
“Live on Olympus, where did they get that idea? Well, I’ll just let them think, no point turning away help from the Gods.” Zagreus said to himself as he put away the message from his uncle. Then a large shield appeared on Zagreus’s arm. It was the famous shield Aegis used by Zeus and Athena. Now equipped with two powerful weapons, Varatha the eternal spear and Aegis the shield and chaos Zagreus moved forward farther into the depths of Tartarus.
In the next chamber a large shade stood in the way to the next door. He looked down upon Zagreus with his massive sword in hand. Zagreus readied his weapons and dashed toward his enemy. The shade moved much faster than Zagreus anticipated but he was able to block the massive sword with his shield. Quickly, Zagreus jabbed at the shade’s stomach with his spear. The shade yelled out in pain and took a step back. While the warrior was dazed from the attack, Zagreus dashed in again and thrusted the eternal spear into the shade’s chest. The shade disintegrated and was sent back to the house of Hades. Once the shade was gone the chamber door opened.
Zagreus continued to make his way through Tartarus slaying any monster, shade, and warrior that tried to halt his escape.
After another chamber of enemies, Zagreus found another gift from the gods of Olympus. A small chest appeared at the end of the chamber and on the chest a small wing. Zagreus opened the chest and saw another note.
“Ah Zagreus, I finally found you. Hermes at your Service. I am here to help you get out of this awful place. Here, take these as a gift, they will help you move around faster down there.”
“Hermes too?” Zagreus mumbled to himself. As he put away the note, he spotted the gift Hermes had talked about. An old pair of sandals covered in a lair of dust. “How are these old things going to help me get out of this place.” Zagreus said to himself as he picked up the ancient sandals. As he went to put them away two wings emerged from the side of each of the sandals. “Interesting…” Zagreus thought to himself as he went to try on the gift given to him by the messenger of the Gods. Zagreus immediately felt himself move faster as he walked towards the exit of the chamber. “Maybe these will help.”
As, Zagreus sent the final shade of the chamber back to House of Hades, a large door opened allowing Zagreus to continue through Tartarus. Once he walked through the large gate, he saw a tall man standing by a table full of random goods and items. “Who could this be” Zagreus thought to himself as he readied his weapons. As Zagreus he approached the man Zagreus finally recognized the man dressed in black. “No way, could it be, Charon?” Zagreus exclaimed. “Hey Charon, what are you doing down here, shouldn’t you be ferrying souls right now?” Zagreus said.

“Urrrnngghhhh…” Charon mumbled.
“Still not much of a talker I see. Well anyway why do you have a shop set up here?” Zagreus asked.
“Nrrnnhhh, hhnnn, hrnnn, hrnnnn…............"
“Hmmm well I guess I’ll take a Pom of power.” Zagreus said as he handed over some of the gold coins he stole from his father when he left the House of Hades. A Pom of power is a magical fruit that temporally increases the consumer’s power. “Having one of these can’t hurt.” Zagreus said quietly knowing that he won’t get a response of from the boatman. Zagreus put the magical fruit away and readied for the next chamber.
Zagreus stood in front of the gate leaving Charon’s shop looking up at the massive gate. “This gate seems different from the others.” Zagreus thought to himself as he walked through the gate. He could feel a strong presence coming from the large room up ahead. As he got closer to the room, Zagreus recognized the presence he sensed. “Don’t tell me it’s who I think it is.” Zagreus said. An intimidating voice echoed through the large chamber.
“Hello… Zag.”
“Oh no… Hello Meg.” Zagreus said to the figure in front of him. Megaera of the Three Furies stood in front of him weapon at the ready. “Hmmm well, how have you been Meg?” Zagreus awkwardly said.
“Quiet Zagreus, not a step further.” The furry said
“Oh, come on Meg, there’s no need for this, besides I think we’ve had enough of each other by now.” Zagreus said attempting to sound confident.
“Your father sent me, and Id rather be on your bad side than his. Now turn around or I will have to send you back myself.” Megaera said angrily.
“You know I won’t turn back.” Zagreus said as he pointed his spear at his opponent. The two charged at each other, weapons ready to fight. Megaera lashed her whip towards Zagreus with terrifying speed. Zagreus was able to deflect the attack with his shield then threw his spear at Megaera. As the spear flew towards her massive wings emerged and quickly flew out of the way. The magical spear floated back to Zagreus. Spear and shield at the ready Zagreus once again ran towards the fury. Side stepping her whip he thrusted his spear towards Megara and hit her arm. The Fury let out a cry of pain. Her face somehow got angrier than before which Zagreus didn’t think was possible. Megaera flew towards Zagreus with her massive claws and swiped at him. He blocked on her claws but was unbale to block the other and she made direct contact with his chest. Zagreus felt the large cuts across his chest and pulled away from the fury. “I can’t take much more of those attacks.” Zagreus said to himself. “I’ll have to change my strategy if I want to beat her, she’s too fast for my normal attacks.” Zagreus tried to think of a new tactic all while trying to block and avoid attacks from his terrifying enemy.
“Give it up Zag you can’t beat me.” Zagreus said tauntingly.
“Hey now Meg, I’m not done just yet.” Zagreus exclaimed as he hurled his shield at Megaera, but She easily dodged it.
“Really, that’s your final attack.” Megaera said as she laughed at the young prince. As she readied for her final blow, she saw the shield ricochet of the wall and come right at her. She tried to fly away but it was too late. The shield struck her in the stomach and knocked her away. Dazed Zagreus ran towards her an plunged his spear into her chest. She stumbled and fell down. She began to fade away. “You better make it to the surface, or I will kill you when you get back to the house.” Megaera said as she was sent back to the House of Hades.
“Sorry Meg.” Zagreus said as he picked up his shield and ran towards the stairs leading up towards Asphodel, the next stage of the underworld.
Part 2 Asphodel
Zagreus could feel the scorching heat intensify as he got closer to the entrance of the next floor. As he walked in the chamber, he the bright lava almost blinded him. It was in an opposite contrast to the dark pits of Tartarus. The lava plains of Asphodel are full of dangerous monsters ands fearsome shades. Without hesitation he made his way through each chamber, fighting all the monsters trying to stop him from reaching the surface.
After what had felt like an eternity of fighting lava-soaked enemies Zagreus found himself in a chamber that wasn’t full of monster trying to kill him. He heard beautiful singing coming from a bedchamber in the conner of the chamber. Zagreus walked towards the singing curious as to why someone with such a great voice was down in Asphodel. “Hello?” Zagreus said hoping to find out who was singing.
“Oh, hello there, sorry I don’t normally get visitors down here.” The strange woman said. “what’s your name?’
“The name is Zagreus, who are you?” Zagreus asked.
“Wait like Prince Zagreus? What are you doing in Asphodel?” The woman said.
“I’m getting out of here; I am going to the surface.” Zagreus sternly exclaimed.
“No way really? Well, I’m Eurydice, here you must be starving.” She said as she handed Zagreus a plate of food. “Hmmm I feel like I’ve heard that name before, I think I remember Orpheus, our musician, saying that name a few times. Wonder if they know each other.” Zagreus thought to himself as he took the plate of food. After Zagreus ate the food, he thanked Eurydice and went on his way to the next chamber.
In the next chamber a room of gorgons waited for him ready for battle. Zagreus battled the ferocious monsters dashing through the plumes of smoke and clouds of ash created by the pools of lava surrounding him. He threw his shield towards one of the gorgons and swiped his spear defeating the final three monsters of the chamber. After reclaiming his shield, he continued towards the chamber gate. As he spotted another chest, similar to the one Hermes left for him back in Tartarus. Zagreus walked towards the chest and noticed a small sword in the same spot Hermes’s symbol was. Zagreus opened the chest and inside, a note from Ares, the God of war.
“Still not much of a talker I see. Well anyway why do you have a shop set up here?” Zagreus asked.

Zagreus opened the chest and inside, a note from Ares, the God of war.
“Zagreus, you are making swift work of the monsters down there. You fight furiously, reminds me of myself back in the day. Once you get up here, we will have fight together. Here take this, it will surely help you in your fights.” Zagreus lifted a piece of armor with a lion head on it. “The hide of the Nemean. This will definitely help.” Zagreus said to himself. The hide of the Nemean lion was armor worn by the famous Hercules. It is incredibly strong and capable of stopping any conventional weapons. Zagreus put on the armor and walked into the next chamber.
Skeletons charged Zagreus and swung their old rusty swords with intent to kill but were unable to scratch the legendary armor. Zagreus cut down the skeletons with ease thanks due to his legendary weapons. Once he slayed the final skeleton the chamber door opened, and Zagreus continued to the large door similar to the gate before Megaera.
A large platform was in the middle of a large pool of lava. At the end of platform sat a large skeleton snake. “The Bone Hydra.” Zagreus said nervously. All 8 heads of the Hydra emerged from the lava and began sending all kinds of different kinds of attacks towards him. The Hydra’s heads shot fire, rushed to eat him, and all other kinds of attacks. The one of the heads slammed the ground trying to crush Zagreus, but his winged shoes allowed Zagreus to dodge the attack in time. As he evaded the attack, he jabbed the eternal spear into the eye of the head killing it. The second Zagreus removed the spear two more heads came after him. He blocked the fire ball coming from the mouth of one head with his shield and threw his spear into the mouth of the second head attempting to bite down the young prince. The spear went through the second head killing it. Another fire ball came hurling towards Zagreus, but Zagreus side stepped the attack but was unable to block the attack coming from a head biting down on his arm. Zagreus bashed the head of the mighty bone hydra with his shield knocking lose the grip it held on to his arm. In pain Zagreus took a step back to formulate a new strategy. “The induvial heads are weak, but with them all attacking at once it’s impossible to attack without leaving my self open.” Zagreus said to himself. Unfortunately, the Hydra didn’t give him the time to think. The Hydra sent three of its heads at Zagreus. Unable to think of a tactic Zagreus jabbed his spear into one of the heads but it wasn’t deep enough to kill it. Two of the heads rushed at Zagreus but he ducked in between the heads and threw his shield and it banked off the two heads stunning them. Zagreus trusted his spear into the two heads killing them. “Only four left” Zagreus said to himself.

Zagreus trusted his spear into the two heads killing them. “Only four left” Zagreus said to himself.
The smell of singed hair and cloth filled Zagreus’s nose. Sweat dripped off his brow as he stared into the remaining four heads of the Hydra. Zagreus quickly tried to come up with a plan to recover his shield that still laid in the middle of the battlefield. Zagreus tried to formulate a plan but was yet again interrupted by the Hydra. He ran towards them and jumped as high as he could. The winged sandals allowed him to jump higher than normal as well as move faster. In the air Zagreus looked down at a head ready to launch a deadly fire ball at him. He mustered all his strength into a throw that pierced the skull of the beast. He managed to kill another head, but now was weaponless. Zagreus continued to charge at the heads jumping, ducking, and dodging the attacks trying to make his way to at least one of his infernal arms. The three remaining heads guarded the legendary weapons knowing that Zagreus is at a disadvantage without them. With no other choice Zagreus pulled out the Pom of Power. “I was hoping to save this for father, but I don’t see a way out of this.” Zagreus said as he bit down on the fruit. Zagreus immediately felt himself grow stronger. He felt recharged and stronger than he had ever felt before. With this newfound energy, he dashed towards one of the heads. He quickly side stepped the massive jaw closing on him and hit the head with all his might. The head exploded into small fragments. Zagreus knew that his newly acquired strength wouldn’t last forever. He needed to quickly kill the remaining two heads before time ran out. Zagreus saw one of the heads charging him and realized he didn’t have time to dodge. He dug his heels into the ground and caught the head by its horns. Zagreus slammed the head into the ground. Again, the head separated into small pieces that scattered across the battlefield. He looked at the final head and began to walk towards it. Zagreus picked up his spear and aimed it at the remaining head. With all the strength he could muster he threw the spear of his mentor at the mighty beast. The spear penetrated the skull and went right through the head of the Hydra. Just as the last head feel Zagreus felt the effects from the Pom of Power leave his body. Covered in burn marks and blood, Zagreus retrieved his weapons and made his way to the next stage of hell. Extremely tired from the fight with the Bone Hydra, Zagreus made his way through the lush fields of Elysium, reserved only for the greatest warriors of history. Being the resting place for some of the strongest fighters in history Zagreus knew that this would be the hardest floor he has tried to escape from. Zagreus readied his weapons for combat unknowing of what enemies lie ahead.
Part 3 Elysium
Zagreus found himself fighting numerous amounts of great warriors in every chamber he entered. They fought with exceptional strength and speed. The Enemies of the previous chambers paled in comparison to the warriors of Elysium. Zagreus had to put all his strength into every fight. Zagreus still managed to climb his way through the fields full of warriors. He felt exhausted from all the fights he had won making his way here. Ready for another grueling fight he walked through the gate, weapons in attack positions.
As he made his way into the next room, he saw an empty room with a fountain. “This must be one of the fountain Father installed with the help of the house contractor. Luckily Zagreus had found a place to rest and health his many injuries from all his battles. The fountains waters had been blessed by the gods and possessed healing attributes. Zagreus soaked in the refreshing fountain and tried to rest. Anytime Zagreus closed his eyes he could only focus on finally stepping foot on the surface and finding his mother. Unable to relax Zagreus gave up on taking some time to rest before he continued his daunting journey. While the refreshing waters of the fountain contained health properties, it can’t heal great wounds. With his minor injuries healed Zagreus made his way into the next chamber full of great warriors.
…
Zagreus jabbed his spear into the shade and bashed the other with the shield of chaos. More mighty warriors rushed at Zagreus with all kinds of weapons. Arrows blocked the “sky” of Elysium while swords, spears, shields all swung in the direction of their prince. Thankfully The Hide of The Nemean Lion excelled at blocking attacking from weapons, Zagreus was able to put more focus into his offense. Zagreus slashed, jabbed, and thrusted at any warrior that he saw. After what felt like days of fighting Zagreus found himself at standing in the empty chamber. Zagreus made his way to the next chamber. He walked into the room, Shield in a defensive position. Zagreus saw no monsters or warriors, just a man sitting on the ground. Curios Zagreus walked to the man, although his weapons still ready for a battle. “Who are you.” Zagreus said to the shade. “Speak!” Zagreus demanded.
“I am no one, not anymore.” The man said softly. “I do not speak battle, keep moving I will not try and stop you.” Confused, Zagreus walked away towards the exit of the strange chamber. “Wait…” the man said sternly. “That spear… where did you get it?”
“It was my teachers. He gave it to me.” Zagreus said wondering why the man stopped him just to ask about his weapon.
“Your teacher… is he Achilles?” The stranger asked.
“How do you know it was Achilles.” Zagreus said firmly.
“I knew him, a long time ago. We fought together.” The man said
“How could a man like you fight with the mighty Achilles?”
“I was… very close with Achilles. We fought many battles together. My name is Patroclus.”
“I have never heard of you.” Zagreus said still questioning if this man really knew Achilles.
“Well, I was nowhere close to the level of power and glory Achilles achieved while we were alive, but I assure you I knew Achilles. I knew him better than anyone. But like I said, that was a long time ago. Anyway, if you see Achilles again. Give him my regards. Tell him that I miss him.” Patroclus said.
“I will.” Zagreus said as he walked through the gates. Zagreus was so fixated on the man. Although he spent many days with Achilles, he had never opened up to Zagreus about his past. Zagreus was so fixated on Patroclus that he failed to realize that the gate he had just entered was the same as the gate before Meg and the Bone Hydra.
Zagreus hear cheering grow louder and louder as he walked through abnormally long corridor of the gate. Wondering what could be ahead, he ran through the gate and found himself in a large Colosseum. The cheering that had piqued his interest was the cheering of shades that filled the colosseum. The cheers seemed to be for the “Champion of Elysium”. Zagreus wondered who this champion could be when the gate on the other side of the battlefield opened. A large man wearing Athens blue and armed with a spear and shield walked through the tunnel. When behind him stood a large figure. Zagreus walked towards the center of the arena to see who these two people were. As they got closer Zagreus was able to make out what the large figure was. It was a large bull standing on its legs. Zagreus was puzzled. He tried to figure out who these two people could be. Then it clicked. “A large warrior from Athens and a bull man… oh no.” Zagreus said under his breath. “Theseus and the Bull of Minos. I thought they were enemies. Why would they be fighting together. Theseus still waving at all his cheering fans acted as if Zagreus wasn’t there.

Theseus still waving at all his cheering fans acted as if Zagreus wasn’t there.
“Welcome challenger. I am Asterius and he is Theseus, hero of Athens and the champion of Elysium. Prepare yourself for defeat.” Said the minotaur.
“Why is the Bull of Minos working with Theseus, the man who killed you?” Zagreus asked.
“The champion is the only man to ever best me in battle. We both battled again when we both met in Elysium. After many duels, a mutual respect was formed, and we became the rulers of Elysium.” The bull said
“Who might this small boy be Asterius? Whatever it matters not who this weakling is. I hope you are ready to be sent back to Hades.” Theseus exclaimed in a booming voice. The two warriors stared down Zagreus and readied for battle. This is the first time in his life Zagreus had ever been nervous before a fight. Zagreus knowing there will be no reasoning with the two said a prayer to his uncle Poseidon. He had never met his uncle, but he knows the god of the sea and Theseus had always been at odds. Perhaps Poseidon will hear his call and aid him in battle to defeat his old enemy. With little hope Zagreus charged at the two great warriors ready for the gruesome fight ahead.
The fearsome bull charged Zagreus at full speed. Zagreus readied his shield and braced for the incoming impact. Zagreus blocked the blow, but he was sent flying into colosseum wall. Zagreus staggered to his feet and immediately saw Theseus’s spear flying at him at unimaginable speed. Zagreus blocked the spear with his shield but the impact from the spear knocked him down to his knees. Then Asterius swung his large axe down on Zagreus. The young prince rolled to the side and dodged the attack. Then Zagreus felt a devastating hit to his back that sent him do the ground. Zagreus turned and saw Theseus standing over him with a taunting grin. With a quick dodge to the left Zagreus got to his feet and readied his weapons. Asterius charged him once again. Zagreus side stepped the bull and jabbed his spear into the minotaur. Asterius yelled in pain then hit Zagreus with a mighty kick. Zagreus staggered to his feet once again. He threw shield at Asterius dazing him. Zagreus then jumped into the air and thrusted his spear into his shoulder. Zagreus tried to remove the spear but before he could, Zagreus was struck with a powerful hit from Theseus’s spear. Thanks to the Hide of the Nemean, Zagreus was able to withstand the attack. Zagreus knew he needed his spear if he was going to defeat them. Zagreus dashed towards Theseus who stood in the way of the spear. Theseus thrusted at Zagreus, but the young prince slid under the attack and hit Theseus with his shield. Theseus fell to his knees, then Zagreus swung down on the champion. As Theseus came to his feet Zagreus retrieve his spear. Asterius swung his axe again at Zagreus. The shield of chaos, Aegis was able to block the blow. After blocking the attack Zagreus quickly went in to attack Asterius. Zagreus slashed his spear at the bulls’ knees bringing him to the ground. Unable to move from the attack Asterius swung his axe to keep Zagreus away, but again Zagreus blocked his attack and went to finish the mighty creature off. As Zagreus lifted his spear to sent Asterius back to Hades, Theseus threw his spear at the young prince hitting him directing in the chest, knocking him to the cold stone floor. Theseus then grabbed his spear and shoved it into Zagreus. Zagreus was able to dodge the fatal attack, but the spear still managed to impale his thigh.
With this new injury, Zagreus would be unable to move at his normal speed. Asterius noticeably in pain, lowered his horns and charged at Zagreus once more. Zagreus threw his shield with all his might and one of the many pillars supporting the giant colosseum. The shield ricocheted off the pillar and struck the charging bull in the head, bringing him to the ground. Zagreus then ran at Asterius knowing that this will be his only chance to finish off Asterius. Zagreus moved as fast as he could and thrusted his spear into the legendry bull’s chest. Asterius yelled out in pain. As Zagreus removed his spear from the bull, Asterius began to fade away, being sent back to the House of Hades.
Zagreus scanned the battlefield for his last opponent but was unable to find Theseus. Then Zagreus felt a sharp pain in his back, and he feel to the ground. He looked back and saw the Champion standing over, clearly upset that Zagreus defeated his friend. Zagreus rose to his feet and charged Theseus with his spear. Theseus blocked the attack with his shield then jabbed his own spear at Zagreus. Zagreus dodged to side then once again thrusted his spear, but again his attack was ineffective. The two warriors both had the same weapons and same way of fighting.
Zagreus continued to duel with the hero of Athens for what felt like days. As they each exchanged blows, Zagreus could feel himself growing more and more tired. He knew that if he wanted to beat Theseus, he would have to do it soon. Zagreus tried to think of a new plan to catch Theseus off guard but had little time as the champion of Elysium was relentless with his attacks. Zagreus knew Theseus was cocky and prideful, so Zagreus came up with a plan to use thus against him. Zagreus took and step back, debating if his plan would really work, he charged Theseus with his spear raised leaving himself wide open for an attack. Theseus saw this opening and thrusted his spear into Zagreus. Zagreus feel down in pain from the massive blow he had just taken. Curled on the ground, body screaming in pain, Zagreus laid there motionless. Theseus knew that Zagreus left himself open on purpose, but he thought he was strong and clever enough to beat him anyway. As Theseus walked over to his body, he began to gloat. “You really thought that you would be able to defeat me? I am Theseus, Hero of Athens, Blessed by the Gods. I will hand it to you, you put up a rather valiant effort, but It was no where close enough to beat me, because I am the great Theseus of Ath…” Theseus stopped bosting and looked down to see Varatha, the eternal spear stuck in his chest. While Theseus was bragging about his apparent victory, Zagreus used it as an opportunity to beat him. Zagreus rose to his feet to reveal that Theseus’s attack was not strong enough to pierce the Hide of the Nemean worn by his hero Hercules. Theseus began to fade away just like his friend Asterius. “I guess you did beat me after all.” Theseus said as he drifted back to hades by the River Styx. Zagreus picked up his spear and limbed to the exit of the colosseum. The cheers of the shades stopped once Zagreus had impaled Theseus, but suddenly erupted with chants in support of the prince. As Zagreus walked put of the chamber, the cheers grew softer and softer, but all he could focus on was the last enemy waiting for him on the surface.
Part 4 the surface.
Zagreus walked up the final set of stairs leading towards the surface. He felt a strange sensation that he had never felt before. It was the feeling of being cold, though Zagreus had no idea what that meant. Then he sees a bright light that he had never seen. It was nothing compared to the light coming from the fire burning in the underworld. Zagreus spots small white dots falling from the sky. “Could this be snow?” Zagreus said to himself as he officially left the underworld. He saw a snow-covered field and a small pond frozen over by a thick layer of ice. Zagreus continued to walk forward in awe of the beautiful scenery. Then a booming voice spoke startling Zagreus to his core. “I see you finally made it here.”
“Father…” Zagreus said. Then Hades appeared in front of him cloaked in his red cape. Hades removed the Helm of Darkness, the famous helmet that allows the user to become invisible.
“Zagreus…turn back now.” Hades said with a commanding tone.
“No father, I’ve come this far, I will not give up now.” Zagreus said
“Then you will suffer the same fate as all of your enemies bellow.”
“Father, why won’t you let me see mother. You have let other escape hell before, like Hercules and Odysseus.” Zagreus said
“They were not the prince.” Hades yelled. “Your mother left for a reason. I will not let you disturb her, or the underworld more than you already have.”

“So be it then, I will defeat you and find her myself.” Zagreus said determinedly as he walked towards Hades, spear and shield ready. Then Hades dawned the helm of darkness and vanished out of sight. Zagreus stopped in his tracks looking for any sign of movement from his father. Focused Zagreus tried to find something to show him where his father was, but then he was struck in the back. Zagreus feel to his knees as Hades appeared behind him. Zagreus rose quickly to catch his father off guard, but due to his injury from Theseus he could not move fast enough, and Hades struck him once again. Blood dripping from Zagreus’s nose, he readied his shield in a defensive position and marched towards the ruler of the Underworld. Once again Hades disappear into thin air and Zagreus lost sight of his father. Zagreus put his back to a massive tree on the edge of the field. With his back protected from attack he hid behind his shield ready for the on coming assault. Then Hades appeared on the other side of the tree and punched through the tree and into Zagreus’s back. Shards of the shattered tree left cuts all over his arm and legs. Zagreus struggled to get to his feet when Hades walked to him. Zagreus raised his shield ready to block the attack. Hades raised his fist and slammed down on the shield repeatedly. Zagreus hid behind the shield trying to think of a way to at least land a hit on his father when he noticed a small crack in his shield. The crack grew larger and larger with each hit from Hades. Then Hades brought down him fist will all his might and broke through the legendary shield of chaos. “He broke Aegis, how?” Zagreus though. Then Hades kicked his son so hard he went flying into the air and lost his spear. Zagreus land on his back. He tried to get up but couldn’t find the strength.
“You cannot beat me, my son. You will never find your mother.” Hades said looking down on his son. Those words made Zagreus angry. Angrier than he had ever been before. Zagreus rose to his feet. Hades went to hit him once again, but Zagreus ducked underneath it and mustered all his strength. All the anger he had built up gathered into his fist. He hit Hades with all his might. All the power he had left. Hades stumbled back. He picked up his head to reveal a small amount of blood oozing from his cheek. Zagreus was in shook. “All my power, everything I had went into that attack and its barley left a mark.” Zagreus said to him self as he fell to his knees. Hades approached him and drew his sword from his belt. Zagreus knew this was the end. Then he watched as his armor, The legendary hide of the Nemean lion able to block any attack, shatter and a sword run through his chest. It was the worst pain he had ever felt. Hades removed the sword and Zagreus fell to the ground.
“This time stay home.” Hades said as he vanished returning to his desk and the house of Hades. Zagreus blood soaked the pure white snow. Zagreus felt himself losing consciousness. He tried to stay awake and go see his mother, but he couldn’t keep his eyes open. He looked at the surface and took in its beauty one more time as he fades away.
Zagreus awoke on the steps to the house of Hades. He saw a massive line go on for miles leading to the main desk of the house of Hades. These were all the shades, monsters, and warriors Zagreus had defeated on his journey ready to go back to their resting places throughout the underworld. Immediately Zagreus ran back to the house and gathered anything that he thought would help him escape. He grabbed Stygius, the Blade of the Underworld and dashed off towards the main gate, ready to try and escape hell once again.A
